High-performance desiccant rotor

The desiccant rotor consists of a honeycomb structure made of fibreglass, coated with highly hygroscopic silica gel. The flutes provide an enormous internal surface area, enabling efficient and effective moisture transfer. The rotor material is hygienic, non-flammable and non-respirable, and the rotors are largely maintenance-free.

Quiet, efficient, reliable

The Condair DA 13000–27000 range features a fully insulated, double-walled Aluzinc® housing with 50 mm mineral wool and RAL9006 powder coating for quiet, efficient operation. Easy-access maintenance doors with handles allow servicing of all components. The robust frame enables quick on-site installation, connecting power supply, ducts, and other media.

Project-Specific Design

The Condair DA 13000–27000 series is engineered for project-specific requirements, focusing on performance and efficiency. Reactivation heating can be flexibly configured using electric, hot water, steam, gas burners, or combinations thereof. Rotor sections can be further tailored to project needs by including heat recovery purge zones or optimising for low reactivation temperatures.

The Condair DA 13000–27000 series provides the following nominal drying capacities at 20 °C and 60 % relative humidity:
DA 13000: Drying capacity 86 kg/h, process air 13 000 m³/h, reactivation air 4 200 m³/h  DA 19000: Drying capacity 111 kg/h, process air 19 000 m³/h, reactivation air 5 400 m³/h  DA 27000: Drying capacity 182 kg/h, process air 27 900 m³/h, reactivation air 6 980 m³/h
All units are individually configured for each project and can include pre- and post-cooling, various reactivation heat sources and customised rotor sections. Standard operating range is 0–40 °C, with modifications available for lower temperatures or outdoor installation.

Condair DA 13000 - 27000 desiccant dryers maximise operational efficiency and reduce operating costs by flexibly using different thermal energy sources. Waste heat, for example in the form of hot water, can be combined with electricity to optimise reactivation costs, prioritising the cheapest available energy. Pre-cooling of the process air reduces excess moisture by removing latent heat, typically provided by a chiller, which achieves higher efficiency at higher humidity and temperature levels than drying with the rotor. Additionally, heat recovery options are available through built-in heat recovery purge zones or external plate heat exchangers.
