Condair humidifiers and dehumidifiers ensure precise humidity between 50 % and 80 % RH, matching the specific needs of each species. While humidity requirements vary, many insects thrive within this range. Crickets generally develop best at 50–70 %, mealworms prefer slightly lower levels of 50–60 % and should not exceed 70 %, and black soldier flies (BSF) require 60–70 % or even higher for optimal egg laying and should never be kept below 60 %. Most other flying insect species fall within the broader 50–80 % range. Maintaining the right humidity prevents desiccation, but it must be carefully controlled, as excessive moisture can encourage mould and bacterial growth, reducing hatchability and impacting overall productivity.
