Benefits
Humidity control is key in insect breeding to ensure healthy growth, reproduction, and high yields. Proper levels prevent stress, dehydration, and disease, creating stable, productive environments for diverse species.
Optimised insect health
Stable humidity prevents stress from dehydration or excess moisture ensures lower mortality.
Better production and yield
Conditions mimic natural habitats, enabling more uniform growth.
Low-cost humidity control and cooling
Humidification also provides energy-efficient cooling in overheated facilities.
Humidification for Insectuaries and Breeding

Tailored humidity for every species and growth stage
Condair humidifiers and dehumidifiers ensure precise humidity between 50 % and 80 % RH, matching the specific needs of each species. While humidity requirements vary, many insects thrive within this range. Crickets generally develop best at 50–70 %, mealworms prefer slightly lower levels of 50–60 % and should not exceed 70 %, and black soldier flies (BSF) require 60–70 % or even higher for optimal egg laying and should never be kept below 60 %. Most other flying insect species fall within the broader 50–80 % range. Maintaining the right humidity prevents desiccation, but it must be carefully controlled, as excessive moisture can encourage mould and bacterial growth, reducing hatchability and impacting overall productivity.

Energy-efficient and reliable climate control
Precise humidity and temperature control are critical for maximising insect growth, health, and productivity. Condair’s adiabatic and hybrid systems provide precise humidity control while cooling the air naturally, reducing energy consumption by up to 80% compared to steam humidifiers. Their robust design ensures reliable performance even in warm, high-moisture environments typical of insect farms.
Conceived to withstand these challenging conditions, Condair systems support consistent colony performance, improve protein yield, and simplify facility management. By combining robustness, precision, and energy efficiency, Condair enables insect farm operators to optimise production while minimising operational costs, delivering a sustainable and high-performance climate control solution.
